OUR STORY

The Vintage Chorus brings together people from across Edinburgh to sing under the guidance of experienced musicians. It is a fun choir for those who enjoy singing in a choir and  who like the  shared experience that choral singing brings.

We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10.30 for two hours with a short break for socialising and refreshments. Our Musical Director teaches us  new, traditional and familiar songs from a wide repertoire, some familiar, others not so  well-known.

We sing folk songs, songs from the shows, 20th century pop, like ABBA,  Beatles and more. At  each session we learn something new, we reprise songs we already know , and  in this way we build up our repertoire of songs to enjoy and sometimes to perform.

There are no auditions, and it is not necessary to be able to read music. You may be an absolute beginner, or an experienced singer. You will  be singing  both in unison and in harmony and you will be singing rounds.  Whatever your  experience ,  at the Vintage Chorus you will  be learning  and singing in a relaxed, friendly environment  with expert tuition and friendly colleagues.

OUR MUSICIANS

Find out more about the professional musicians who lead the Vintage Chorus, Wendy Weatherby and Sandy Brechin.

Quite apart from their musical skills they both have a great sense of humour, which makes each rehearsal a fun experience.
